David P. Krejci

1941 - 2021

David P Krejci, age 80, of York, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2021 in York. David was born on June 2, 1941, to John and Maddie (Leif) Krejci, near Friend in rural Saline County. On Oct. 16, 1963, he was united in marriage to Norma Otte in Belleville, Kan. After her death David was married to Janice Jeffrey on Aug. 6, 1996 in York.
David was the manager at the lumber yard in Exeter. He was also a carpenter and worked for Harre Construction in York and helped build 23 houses in the York area. He also planted trees for the NRD. David liked hunting pheasants, quail and doves, and enjoyed gardening, growing tomatoes, dancing and family gatherings.
He is survived by his wife, Janice of York; daughter, Denise Krejci of Denver, Colo.; sons, Jeffrey Krejci of Spencer, Iowa and Jonathan Krejci of Sloan, Iowa and grandchildren, Christian Krejci and Kelsey Krejci both of Spencer, Iowa.
He is also survived by his sister, Margaret Kassik of Milligan; his brothers, Donald (Elaine) Krejci and Linus (Shirley) Krejci both of Exeter and his brother-in-law, Jim Betka of Milligan and sister-in-law, Barb Krejci of Nebraska.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Norma; his brother, Richard; his two sisters, Sylvia and Elaine and his brother-in-law, Frank Kassik.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in York, with the Reverend Father John Sullivan officiating. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. at Exeter Cemetery in Exeter. A rosary service will be held on Monday evening at 6 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 1 - 4 p.m. on Monday at the mortuary and then one hour prior to the rosary service at the church that same evening. Condolences may be directed to his family at www.metzmortuary.com. Memorials may be directed to the Parkinson Association or planting a tree with the NRD.
