Diane Foster Obituary

Diane Blauch Foster, formerly of Wyncote, Pa. passed away peacefully at 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27. Her three sons have lost their beloved mother, a brazen intellectual and our moral center who put her loved ones needs above her own.

She attended York College as an undergraduate music major and later Drexel University where, after raising kids, she received her master's degree in library science.

She taught at Sandy Run Middle and Upper Dublin High School for over 25 years.

She was insatiably curious about the world traveling widely with friends, family, and on sabbaticals. Her passions were music, specifically piano, reading and crossword puzzles.

True to her values, she donated her body to the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in order to educate the next generation of doctors. Her remains will be interred at her family plot in Blue Hill, Neb. She will be surely missed.

Diane (and her sisters) were the best of friends to our parents, Fred and Laura Koontz, for more than 70 years. I believe Diane may have been the ringleader of many pranks on Dad over the years, including celebrating Dad's 70th birthday by picketing on the main intersection of Kearney Nebraska with signs that, among other things, said "Fred Koontz gives the Golden Years a bad name." Diane was brilliant, funny as hell and the best of friends to Mom and Dad. We are so sorry for the loss of this amazing woman.

Diane Blauch
A darling friend so many years ago in high school. Sorry as the years go by we part but we never forget those we felt close to and enjoyed so much.
Something tells we will meet again. I hope so. You are the best.
Love, Mitzi Baker Robbins
