Kathy Dobberstein Obituary

Kathy S. Dobberstein, age 64 of York, died Tuesday, April 30, 2024 in York. She was born on November 4, 1959 to Gary J.H. and Irene M. (Brott) Dobberstein in York.

She was a long-time member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York. Kathy was a clerk at the truck stop. She loved cats and enjoyed doing crafts, gardening and growing flowers.

Kathy is survived by her brother, Rick Dobberstein of York; nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother and two sisters.

Memorial services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, May 9, 2024 at the Metz Chapel in York. Private family inurnment to be held at a later date in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, west of Thayer. Kathy has been cremated so there will be no viewing however her family will greet guests Wednesday evening from 6 - 7:30 p.m. at the mortuary in York. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation. Condolences may be left for the family at metzmortuary.com. Metz Mortuary in York is handling the arrangements.

Though I hadn't had any contact with Kathy for decades, I remember that, in our younger years, she was full of energy and up for just about anything. Kathy was not afraid to be herself in any situation. God Bless her and her family.
