Kenneth (Kenny) L. Friesen
July 20, 1948 - October 10, 2025
Kenneth (Kenny) L. Friesen aged 77, passed away Friday, October 10, 2025 in Henderson at his home, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born July 20, 1948 to Raymond and Erma Friesen in York, Neb. Kenny was united in marriage on May 23, 1970 to Peggy Diane Bowman. They had a blissful 51 years of marriage and had two children, Stacy and Brian.
Kenny's favorite hobby was trying anything that his wife made in the kitchen. His favorites included verenika, New Year's Cookies, and cinnamon rolls. Kenny was an avid sports and Husker fan and even considered himself a coach. He could recall a score, foul, or any detail from Stacy or Brian's sporting events. He never missed a game of the Huskers, his children, or his grandchildren. Kenny also enjoyed auctions, garage sales, and would tell everyone he was a bargain shopper. He loved being outside on the farm, working on projects, and enjoyed fishing. On a Friday after retirement, you could find Kenny at the sale barn looking for cattle and then at the racetrack in the evening watching dirt track racing, then back home to watch Westerns. Above all those things, Kenny's most prized possession was his family.
He is survived by his son, Brian (Cori) Friesen of York, Neb.; and his daughter, Stacy (Lonnie) Nickels of Geneva, Neb. His beloved grandchildren include; Hadley Wiemer of Grand Island, Neb., Dillon Eaton of Geneva, Neb., Wyatt, Jax and Brixlee Friesen all of York, Neb. Also surviving is his brother, Ed (Wyona) Friesen of Aurora, Neb., and two sisters; Carolyn Friesen of Kansas City, Kan., and Janet (Ed) Turner of KingFisher, Okla. As well as nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Peggy Friesen; brothers-in-law, Allyn Friesen, Bob Bowman, Larry Bowman, Butch Bowman; and sisters-in-laws, Linda Quiring and Sherrie Crow.
