Timothy Dean "Tim" McNeese

January 25, 1953 - October 29, 2025

Timothy Dean "Tim" McNeese, age 72, of York, died peacefully at home Wednesday, October 29, 2025, in York.

He was born on January 25, 1953, in Bellevue, NE, to Willard and Norma (Kelly) McNeese. On August 12, 1972, he was united in marriage to Beverly Diane Doty in Springfield, MO.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Beverly of York: children, Noah (Kara) McNeese of Aurora, NE; Summer (Mark) Dickinson of Franklin, TN; grandchildren, Adrianna (Lane) Colamore; and great-granddaughter, Callie, with another granddaughter on the way; Cora McNeese; William McNeese; Ethan Dickinson; Finn Dickinson; Beckett Dickinson; Atticus Dickinson. Also surviving are his brother, Kyle (Judy) McNeese of Little Rock, AR; sister, Sher (Del) Lassley of San Tan Valley, AZ; sister-in-law, Anita Lewis of Springfield; and five nieces and nephews.

Tim was a lifelong historian, teacher, writer, storyteller, avid reader, YU Round-Up presenter, YU Domestic Studies coordinator (2003-2014), collector of Native American items, a Happy Hollow Bible Camp Director for 47 years.

A dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. Most importantly . . . a Servant of God.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Sunday, November 16, 2025, at the East Hill Church of Christ in York.

It was Tim's wishes to be cremated and there will be no viewing or visitation.

In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials may be directed to the Tim McNeese Endowment Scholarship Fund at York University in York, NE.

Condolences may be sent to the family at metzmortuary.com. Metz Mortuary in York is handling the arrangements.
