Ada Bell Cox Barbee, 97, of Rockingham, N.C., passed away Wednesday, April 02, 2014.
Mrs. Barbee was born December 2, 1916 in Williamsburg County, S.C., a daughter of the late Johnny and May Bell Mixon Cox. She was a longtime member of East Rockingham United Methodist Church where she was very active on the kitchen committee and was a retired textile employee. She loved gardening, her flowers and her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Barbee; a son, Lawrence Barbee; brothers, Leland Cox and Franklin Hilburn; and sisters, Maggie Sanders and Juanita Tucker.
Surviving are her beloved family, Shirley Watson of Rockingham and Sharon Puckett and husband Carl of Ellerbe; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Pearl Sessons of South Carolina.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Eastside Cemetery with the Rev. Pat Sykes officiating.
The family will see friends following the service and at other times at the Puckett home, 280 McIntyre Road, Ellerbe.

So sorry to hear of your mother's passing, Sharon. I remember your mama and daddy very well when I was growing up and they use to come visit Grandma and Grandpa Williams. Great people. I know you will miss her. Take care.
