BILLY RAY KIRK
ROCKINGHAM — Billy Ray Kirk, 76, of Rockingham, died on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019. Mr. Kirk was born Aug. 18, 1942, in Richmond County, a son of the late Ernest and Annie Mae Walters Kirk. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and had retired from CP&L, where he had been Plant Manager at the Blewitt Falls and Tillery plants.
The family will see friends from 1:45-2:45 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church and at other times at the home.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the church, with Rev. Dan Main officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Brenda King Kirk; sons, Darrell Kirk (Karen) of Ellerbe and Russell Kirk (Kelly) of Rockingham; grandchildren, Lindsey Kirk Roberts (Matthew), Ben Kirk, Alex Kirk and Tyler Kirk; great-grandchildren, Shelby, Harrison, Violet and Mia Roberts; brothers, Eddie Kirk (Mary) and Tim Kirk (Connie); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 596 E. Washington St. Ext., Rockingham, NC 28379. Carter Funeral Home is assisting the Kirk family. Condolences may be made online at www.carterfuneral.net.
