Chris Byers Obituary

Our father, brother, son, friend, Chris Byers died on Thursday, July 17, 2014. He was 51 years old. Chris was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife DeeDee. He was also preceded by his parents, Judy Riepe and Royce Byers. He is survived by his Stepfather and best buddy, Howard Riepe, his daughter Carly, his brothers Rick Byers (Linda) and Jeff Byers (Crystal), nieces Elizabeth, Amy, and Rachelle and nephews Zach and Brandon. He was born in Delano, CA, and lived his entire life in Sacramento and Elk Grove. Chris attended Elk Grove High and Sacramento City College and spent his career as a driver for Aramark. Chris loved his daughter Carly with a fierceness that only a father can understand. He was a loyal friend and family member. Chris loved all sports and could probably beat you at any one of them. Chris embraced and lived life to the fullest. We're all going to miss his ready, beaming smile, his easy going attitude, and his zest for life. "How can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat?" A celebration of his life is planned for Sunday, July 27, 2014 at 3:00 pm. We will be meeting at Light of the Valley Lutheran Church, 9270 Bruceville Rd, Elk Grove, CA.

We love you Chris. Softball nights at the complex, extra innings at the Pizza Barn, and hoisting titles and hardware at the end of the season. God bless you!

Chris you will be missed! I always remember you smiling and you were always very nice and a hardworker at Aramark. I'm sad to hear of this news but I know you are with our Heavenly Father up above. You were a wonderful person! God Bless You Chris and peace be with your family. I hope that Carly takes comfort in knowing that she now has a special guardian angel to watch over her.

I will always remember that laugh of yours sitting at route check-in, even when things in your life were so difficult. You are someone I truly looked up to. A wonderful husband and father. Rest in peace my friend.
