LAURINBURG — Sandra Brown Martin,88, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at Scotia Village in Laurinburg. She was born January 22, 1938 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Lester L. and Elizabeth Tanner Brown.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Marvin H. "Spec" Martin, sister Beth Brown Peek and a brother, Jimmy Brown.
Sandra was a homemaker. Throughout their marriage, Sandra and Spec loved traveling to various states in their RV, often inviting family to go on their adventures. Many happy memories were made on those adventures and in time spent at their home at Sunset Beach. Sandra enjoyed spending time with family, attending church services at The Church of Christ (Aberdeen), afternoon car rides, shopping for antiques and collectibles, and shopping in general- especially at Belk's.
Sandra had a loving nature, great spirit, and positive outlook on life. She loved her family beyond measure. Having no children of her own, Sandra helped care for and raise nephews Tim, Shawn, and Jarrett. She loved them unconditionally and greatly influenced their lives.
Those left to cherish her memory are her brother, Paul Brown (Karen); nephew and caretaker Tim Peek (Christy Pearson); and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 1, 2026 at 2:30 p.m. at Watson-King Funeral Home Chapel in Hamlet with Harold Pearson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Richmond Co. Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to the Women's Recovery Center at Samaritan Colony, 136 Samaritan Dr., Rockingham, NC 28379.
