TIMOTHY WRIGHT BOYD
HAMLET — Timothy Wright Boyd, 64, of Hamlet, died Monday Feb. 4, 2019. Tim was born Aug. 19, 1954, in Richmond County, a son of the late Patrick and Susan Boyd, and brother Patrick Boyd II. He retired from CSX Railroad, where he worked as a car inspector.
Many Hamlet natives know of the summers of fun spent at Boyd Lake with the Boyd family. Tim enjoyed his home and the nature surrounding it.
As Tim was a private person, no formal services will be held. Tim so loved his home and his beautifully maintained land, so his family would like to hold a memorial for close friends and family to spread his ashes, at a later date.
He is survived by his sons Timothy Wright Boyd II (Tera) of Apex, and Patrick Garrett Boyd of Rockingham. Tim has one granddaughter, Arden Wright Boyd. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to honor his memory by suggesting a small donation to the Hamlet Historic Depot and Museum located at 2 Main St., Hamlet, NC 28345. Donations can also be made through their website, http://www.hamlethistoricdepot.org/.

I grew up knowing Timothy because I also lived out at Boyd's Lake, loved the summers growing up there. When we were young Tim use to walk up to my house and several of us neighborhood kids would hang out and play outside which is what kids use to do back then and I remember Tim just laughing a lot, he was a lot of fun. We reconnected not so long ago on social media on Facebook and he would send me very nice messages and it was so nice to chat with him again. It is heartbreaking that now he is gone. He will be greatly missed. Thoughts and prayers go out to all of the family members. Kathy Ethridge Rosser
