Becca Lamoreaux Obituary

Becca Celeste Dominick Lamoreaux passed away on July 26, 2024 at home in Paragonah, Utah. Becca was born
on March 23, 1988 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Gwyn and Darrel Dominick and big sister Erin.
Becca lived in several places as she was growing up due to her father's career. The family lived in Freedom, OK,
Mangum, OK, Columbia, MO, Casper, WY, Fayetteville, NY, Veazie, ME, and Stillwater, OK where she graduated
from SHS in 2007. Becca was a good athlete. She played high school varsity soccer, ran cross country and received
her Black Belt in Taekwondo at age 12. Becca had learning disabilities and overcame them with courage and her
mother's help. While in high school she received her Business Certificate from Meridian Technology in Stillwater,
OK. Becca then went on to achieve an Associate Degree in Business from Northern Oklahoma College. She
attended Oklahoma State University, and then graduated with a BS in Agriculture from Langston University.
Becca went to work for the U.S. Department of Agriculture – Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) as a
Soil Conservationist in NM. She was proud to be a fourth generation employee with the SCS/NRCS. Becca met
her future husband and great love Dustin Lamoreaux there. They both loved working in natural resource careers
and moved to Tiffin, OH for another NRCS position.
Heartbreakingly, Becca became very ill while in her twenties. She was a patient of the Cleveland Clinic where they
diagnosed severe Gastrointestinal Hypomotility Syndrome and Gastroparesis. This chronic illness disabled her and
she left the work she loved. She strove to increase awareness of chronic illnesses, and often reached out to help
others in their own struggles. Becca bravely fought this illness for the rest of her life.
On October 31, 2015 she married Dustin Lamoreaux in Stillwater, OK. Becca was a beautiful bride and she said it
was the best day of her life with "such a good man". Becca and Dustin had a wonderful time exploring the natural
beauty of Kauai, Hawaii on their honeymoon.
Becca, Dustin, and Choco, their Chocolate Labrador "son", moved to Stillwater, OK in 2016 to be near her parents
for their help and support as she fought the chronic illness. They bought their first home.
In 2021, Dustin had the opportunity to go to work with NRCS in Cedar City, UT. They moved to Paragonah, UT,
Dustin's hometown, to be near the Lamoreaux family. They purchased a camper trailer and spent many wonderful
days in the mountains and exploring around the area.
Becca was a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and was baptized in the Catholic Church. Becca's big
bright blue eyes and sunny smile were beautiful and will be cherished by all who knew her. She was a woman with
a fiery spirit, inner strength, love of helping others, and a big kind heart. She had the opportunity to go twice to
Europe and explored other interests and hobbies.
Becca was pre-deceased by her beloved companion dog Choco, as well as maternal grandparents James and Sadie
(née Quinn) McClendon of Okmulgee, OK, and paternal grandparents Max and Mary (née Guest) Dominick of
Stillwater, OK.
Becca is survived by her husband Dustin, and Wren, her Red Labrador "son", both of the home.
Becca is also survived by parents Gwyn and Darrel Dominick, of Stillwater, OK; sister Erin Anderson and nephew
Asher of Oak Ridge, TN; in-laws Gary and Lisa Lamoreaux of Paragonah, UT; Dustin's beloved grandfathers
Gerald Hyatt of Parowan, UT, and Walter Lamoreaux of Paragonah, UT. Others include her uncles and their
families: Don Dominick (Kathy) of Stillwater, OK; Jimmy McClendon of Oklahoma City, OK; and David
McClendon (Pat) of Temecula, CA.
Becca did not want any services, and her wishes will be met. If a kind gesture is desired in Becca's name, the
family recommends giving to the Ronald McDonald House at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. Please specify
"Cleveland House Program". Becca will be greatly missed and our hearts mourn deeply.
Local arrangements have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
