Jackie Morton Obituary
(Wright) Morton. He was one of three children and spent his entire life in his hometown of
Morris, Oklahoma.
Jackie graduated from Morris High School in 1976, where he was active in FFA and showing
livestock.
Jackie worked at his family owned oil company, Morton Leases, Inc. He was known for his hard
work, dedication, and deep knowledge of oil field operations. He especially found satisfaction in
pulling wells and operating rigs.
Outside of work, Jackie enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved riding his Harley and throwing
horseshoes with anyone who was willing to get beat! He would enjoy his daily jaunt to Morris Oil
Field Supply where he enjoyed a cup of coffee over conversation with his brother and buddies.
He would often take a walk and visit friends around town. He enjoyed spending time at the
casino, playing the slot machines. He also had a soft spot for his pets. Jackie was very outgoing
and kind hearted. He never met a stranger and would make friends wherever he went. He loved
watching his kids in all of their sporting events and would never miss a game or even practices.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson and Clara, and a brother, Nelson Gene
Morton.
Jackie is survived by his children, Jacqueline Kelsey, Jessie Morton, Michael Morton and wife
Jessica, and Julie Devine and husband Stephen; his brother, Jimmy Morton and wife Karen; and
his grandchildren, Hunter and Shelby Kelsey, Maverick Morton, and Mason Downum. Jackie
"Fat Jack" Morton will be remembered for his humor, friendship, and the way he made everyone
feel like family. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Graveside memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Morris
Cemetery with Pastor Randy Mathews officiating.
Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral
