Julie Thomas Obituary
Julie Hobson Thomas, 56, went to be with our Heavenly Father on November 2, 2023. She was born April 27th, 1967 in Richmond, Virginia to Everett Fielding Hobson, Jr. and Barbara Lee (Frye) Hobson.
Julie attended J.R. Tucker High School, and upon graduation she continued her education into cosmetology where she became a hairdresser for 25 years. She loved helping people while not just with beautifying their hair, but also helped many people with their lives while they were sitting in her chair. She didn't just love doing hair, but she had a continual passion for helping people.
Julie had stated that she never liked Valentines Day because she has never met her sweetheart. So, when she met the one she wanted to spend the rest of her life with she wanted to get married on Valentines Day. That fairy tell wedding came on February 14th, 1998 when she married Alan Wayne Thomas. She also became an instant mother to Wayne's two children, Craig and Tara Thomas.
On February 28th, 2012, Julie received a new Birth of Life when she received a double lung transplant. She never once took her second life for granted. She was always passionate about helping others and shared her love of Christ with anyone she met. She was someone everyone wanted to be friends with and was one of the most inviting souls. She was such a light to those around her that every time she went into any stores, or in any public setting, someone always sought her out to talk with. She met so many other people and helped so many wondering souls, just by being her.
However, the greatest love she ever had was for her grandkids. Her grandchildren knew nothing but love from her and they truly cherished her. She not only lit up their world, but she also lit up the world for them. She would always say, "They are so cute and I love them so much, that I want to suck their cheeks off." She never had a wasted moment with the amount of love and memories she created with them.
Julie was the Light of Christ and never met a stranger, and those of us that were fortunate enough to spend life on earth with her, will miss her greatly. We will all miss her words of encouragement, wisdom, and her fun sense of humor. There will be a lot of stories to tell to keep her memory alive. She was someone to admire about her view on life and her wisdom in Christ. Julie and Wayne are members of Jubilee Christian Church in Okmulgee OK.
Julie is survived by her loving husband Wayne Thomas, her step daughter Tara Hiner, and her Grandchildren Charli Mae, Emmitt, Ava, and Garrett, Her brother Mike Hobson, and her sister Leigh Smith. As well as her nieces and nephews Ashleigh Ridenour, Hunter Birtsch, Heather (Pike) Simmons, and Mike Hobson Jr., which also meant the world to her. She also loved her great nieces and nephews Maverick, Baron, Hudson, Anniston, and Everett.
