Anna Neece Obituary

Anna May Neece was born on July 17,1937 in LaGrange, Missouri and passed away on December 22, 2007 in LaHabra, California after a long battle with lung disease.

Anna and her family came to Yuma in 1955 from Missouri. She graduated from Yuma High School in 1955 and went on to Grand Canyon College where she graduated with a double major in education and music. She taught school in Arizona for almost 40 years, 35 of which were for Yuma School District #1. She was one of the original teachers at Gwyneth Ham. She is a member of "Who's Who of American Teachers". Anna was always very active in Special Olympics in Yuma. She participated in many support groups for new parents of Down Syndrome children.

She is survived by her husband, Harold Neece Jr.; daughter, Christie Squires of La Habra; sons, Dennis Neece of Lynnwood, Washington and David Neece and Kenneth Neece of Yuma; two granddaughters; three grandsons; one great-grandson; and two step-granddaughters.
