Deloris Neece Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Markwell Funeral Home - Casey on Dec. 17, 2025.
Deloris Neece (Forbes), age 98, of Tavares, FL passed away at her residence on December 14, 2025, with her loving family by her side. Deloris was born on June 14, 1927 in Vandalia, IL to John and Stella Forbes.

Deloris graduated from Vandalia High School in 1945. She married Irwin Neece from Greenville, IL in 1947 in Orland, CA. They moved to Casey, IL in 1950, where they raised their 2 daughters, Pat and Kathy.

Survivors include: her daughters, Patricia (Roger) Ubaudi of Leesburg, FL, and Kathryn (Greg) Oakley also of Leesburg, FL. Three granddaughters, Sara, (Michael) Nagy,

Erin (Micah) Tawlks, Tessa (Brad) King and five great grandchildren, Madigan and Peyton Nagy, Holden Tawlks, and Harvey and Bea King. As well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by Irwin in 2000, her parents, and five sisters: Lucille Frailey, Dorothy Kistler, Emma Jean Chernisky, Betty Bethards and Donna Radcliff, (her twin sister). Also four brothers, Leonard, Wayne, Wilford and Donald Forbes.

Deloris worked in Casey, IL as a telephone operator at CT&N Telephone Co. and as a Secretary at Marathon Pipe Line Co. in Martinsville, IL. She retired in 1977. She was an active member of the Casey Country Club and The United Methodist Church in Casey. She enjoyed many hobbies during her lifetime including golf, bowling, sewing, quilting, and cooking. Her visits to her grandchildren always included the largest Tupperware bowl she could find, filled to the brim with chocolate chip cookies. Many recipes that remain favorites at family gatherings, originated from her kitchen. At age 88 she had her first hole in one, and at age 90 her last round of golf.

She loved her family and will be missed. Her family loved her deeply: as Mom, Grandma, and G.G. Some of her life lessons will forever live on, from a life well lived.

Her life will be celebrated in Casey, IL at a future date.
