Debra Ann "Debbie" Simmons

Debra Ann "Debbie" Simmons, age 72, of Westfield, IL passed away at 5:32 a.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Coles County, IL. She was born June 25, 1953 in Albuquerque, NM the daughter of Robert R. "Bob" Simmons and Shirley Joan (Merrick) Simmons.

Survivors include her siblings, Sherry Robison (Rob) of Westfield, IL; Donna Shull of Casey, IL; Karen Lowry (Sean) of Champaign, IL and Robert A. Simmons (Liz) of Casey, IL; nieces and nephews, Michelle Carlen (Steve Simpson) of Charleston, IL; Ryan Robison (Jenny) of Pontiac, IL; Melody Shull of Des Moines, IA; Angie McElravy (Greg) of Jewett, IL; Eric Shull (Jessica) of Casey, IL; Kyle Lowry (Shayna) of Quincy, IL; Jason Lowry of Champaign, IL; Robert "Mitch" Simmons (Kayla) of Westfield, IL; Robert Jackson "R.J." Simmons of Casey, IL and Ashleigh Kehoe of Indianapolis, IN; aunt, Sandra Patrick (Don) of Taylorville, IL; and great nephews and nieces, cousins and many friends. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Shirley Simmons; sister, Kathy Simmons; nephew, Robert Shane Lowry; and brother-in-law, Brent Shull.

Debbie was a graduate of Westfield High School. She continued her education, graduating with her nursing degree from Lake View School of Nursing in Danville, IL. Debbie worked her lifetime as an RN for DaVita Dialysis, Renal Research, American Health Care and hospitals in the Champaign area. Debbie served as the director of Ambulatory Services for Champaign Hospitals for over 27 years. She was a member of the American Association of Nephrology Nurses. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan much to the dismay of her Cardinal fan brother and enjoyed gardening, reading, camping, traveling and attending athletic events of her nephews and nieces. Debbie was a member of the Westfield Baptist Church, Westfield, IL.

At her request there will be no services. Debbie's ashes will be interred in Maple Hill Cemetery, Westfield, IL beside her parents in a private family service at a later date.
