Craig Byrd Obituary

Craig Byrd passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2008 in Yuma. He was born December 5, 1956 in Yuma. He worked side by side with his dad at Byrd Refrigeration for over 30 years. He was a member of the Rod and Gun Club, the National Harley Owners Group (HOG) and the NRA. He was a 1974 graduate of Kofa High School and attended AWC and ASU.

Craig got his first motorcycle before the age of ten and loved racing and riding motorcycles all of his life. He was also an avid classic car and hot rod enthusiast. He loved skiing with the Fat Chance group and hunting and camping with family and friends.

Craig is survived by his wife, Laura Byrd; daughter, Kelley (Scott) Holzer; sister, Cami (Joel) Agena; brother, Mike (Johnna) Byrd; father-in-law, Carl Greenwell; brothers-in-law, Andy (Helen) Greenwell and Reed (Carrie) Greenwell; uncle, Dickie (Beverly) Byrd; aunts, Lois Shepard, and Annette Tate; nieces and nephews, Tiffany Nelson, Crystal Greenwell, Allison Greenwell, Douglas Greenwell, Ashley Greenwell, Charyssa Greenwell, Gehden Agena, Harm Agena and Jake Byrd; and many wonderful cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Russell Byrd; mother, Louise Byrd; mother-in-law, Lauryne Greenwell; and grandparents.

A service officiated by the Honorable John Nelson will be held at Johnson Mortuary on Monday, January 28, 2008 at 1 p.m. Honorary pallbearers are Carl Greenwell, Andy Greenwell, Reed Greenwell, Dickie Byrd, Mike Byrd, Joel Agena, Scott Holzer, Richard Sprague, David Bjornstad, Jon Peterson, John Farley, Mike Palmer, Chris Hengl, Ronnie Martin, Scott Hannon, Danny Crawford, Barry Patterson, Richard Samrah and John Sternitzke.
