David Jose Montoya

March 23, 1953 - April 12, 2025

David Jose Montoya, 72, of Yuma, Arizona, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

David was born on March 23, 1953, in Panama City, Florida, to Isaac Jose "Joe" Montoya and Guadalupe "China" Soto Montoya.

David served in the Army from 1972-1974. He then attended the University of Arizona graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Business. David was a very proud Wildcat! He spent the majority of his life in Yuma, where he built a successful career in insurance sales with A.T. Pancrazi Insurance and The Montoya Group. David retired in 2022, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism, dedication, and integrity.

Beyond his work, David was a devoted member of the community. He was actively involved in several service organizations including the Yuma Rotary Club, the Knights of Columbus, and the Elks Lodge. His generous spirit, warm smile, and unwavering commitment to helping others made a lasting impression on all who knew him.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and China Montoya, and his brothers, Carlos, Mike, and Steve Montoya.

He is survived by his brother, Dan Montoya (Sylvia), and sisters, Carmen Green (Rex) and Alicia Jorajuria (Mike). He leaves behind a loving family, including his daughters, Margo Morrison (Athon), Amanda Beck (Jason), and Sarah Gwynn (Ross), and his treasured grandchildren: Cooper Morrison, Reagan Morrison, Sydney Beck, Hayden Beck, Benton Beck, Parker Gwynn, Evelyn Gwynn, and Miller Gwynn. David is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom were touched by his kindness, humor, and strength.

David Jose Montoya will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love he gave, the laughs he shared, and the life he lived with purpose and grace.

Immediately following at Desert Lawn Memorial Park

Celebration of Life

12:00 pm at The Elks Lodge
