Frank Vasquez Obituary

Frank T. Vasquez

May 11, 1948 - June 16, 2025

Frank T. Vasquez, age 77 of Yuma, AZ, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2025, with his 2 sons and Beloved wife by his side.

Born on May 11, 1948, Frank was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, grandpa, uncle and friend. Frank was best known for his unstoppable work ethic. His integrity, honesty, generosity, and above all love and loyalty. There was never a need too great or small. Frank was always there and would drop what he was doing to lend a hand. These are the traits that carried him through out his life. Traits he instilled in his Boys, Frankie and Nicholas Vasquez.

Frank graduated from Yuma Union High School, after which he joined the Army becoming a proud Army Vietnam Veteran, a testament to his courage and commitment to his country. After his service, Frank embarked on what became a 37 ½ year career with the City of Yuma, where he served as a Heavy Equipment Operator with Public Works. His dedication and exceptional skill set became a great example to others and he never stopped learning or improving himself along the way. He never shied away from a challenge and took pride in everything he did.

Frank's love and passion for mechanics also played a large role in his life; whether it was fixing up a hidden treasure he found or one of the classic cars he collected over the years. He admired both classic and racing cars and just loved all things motors. A passion he shared with his boys as he taught them everything he knew.

The one thing Frank never passed up was a good time with a football. There wasn't a family get together that Frank wasn't playing catch or starting up a game with the kids and anyone else who would play. It wasn't a party until Frank grabbed that football.

Frank is survived by his wife of 53 years, Alberta Vasquez; his 2 sons, Frankie Vasquez (spouse-Adriane), Nicholas Vasquez (spouse-Nadia). Granddaughters, Alisha, Anelaya, Maleah, and Nickayla, and his sisters, Felipa (spouse-Ray), Nadine (spouse-Charlie), Elisa, Margarita and Alex. His legacy will continue on living through them.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Ramon and Maria; his father and mother-in-law, Apolonio and Belen Fernandez, and his brothers, Ramone, Art, Tommy and Teo Vasquez.

A memorial service for Frank will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, 505 S. Avenue B, Yuma, AZ on Thursday, July 10, 2025 with Rosary at 10:30 am and Mass immediately following at 11:00am.

Frank was one of my cousins, growing up together in Somerton and Yuma. I will always remember Frank as a very good person, who, if you were his friend, he kept in touch and probably looked out for you. After I left Yuma and would visit my parents, Frank would stop by to say hi and catch up on life. Rest in peace cousin.

Frank was a good man. And it was a pleasure working with him at the City of Yuma Public Works when we were in the Solid Waste Dept.. Frank was always willing to help those who needed it and gave excellent customer service to those on his trash route. Sometimes too much ! Lol. Frank had a good sense of humor and laughed easily . He served his country well in the Army in Vietnam. Sorry Frank we all can't be Marines. You'll be missed Frank. God Bless.
