Judy Moreno Obituary

Judy S. Moreno, 73, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at Yuma Regional Medical Center after a long illness. Judy was the daughter of Sara Arguillo and Cruz Soliz, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Moreno and son, Edward Moreno. Judy was full of life, and loved her plants, her dog Queenie, reading books, dancing and family gatherings. She is survived by her sister, Clara Carrasco of California; sons Jesse (Vida) Moreno Jr. of California, Raymond (Linda) Moreno, Alfred Moreno, Johnny Moreno, Joe Moreno and Peter Moreno, all of Yuma; daughters Betty Garcia of Phoenix, Mary (Pete) Carreno of Somerton, Lupe Moreno, Stella Diaz, and Rosie (Fernando) Acuna, all of Yuma; 46 grandchildren; and 55 great-grandchildren. Judy was formerly a member of Immaculate Conception Church, and recently studied with The Jehovah's Witnesses. Visitation will be at Johnson Mortuary, 1415 S. First Ave, on Friday, January 23, 2009 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Services will be held at Immaculate Conception Church on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 10 a.m. with graveside services to follow at Desert Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be her sons; Jesse, Raymond, Joe, Johnny, Alfred and Peter Moreno. Honorary pallbearers are her daughters; Betty Garcia, Mary Carreno, Lupe Moreno, Stella Diaz and Rosie Acuna. A special thanks to RTA Hospice, the ICU unit at Yuma Regional Medical Center, her doctor, Sergio Pena Herrera, and all of the family.
