Kathryn Michelle Hancock

August 22, 1967 - October 15, 2021

Kathryn Michelle Hancock, 54, went to be with Jesus on Friday, October 15, 2021 in Sanger, California.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on November 6 at The Rock Church, 2555 E. Gila Ridge Road in Yuma.

Kathy was born in Florence, Arizona to Doug and Carole Henry on August 22, 1967. She attended Mohawk Valley Elementary School in Roll, Arizona and graduated from Antelope Union High School in 1985. Kathy was active in FFA, volleyball and tennis all four years and also played in the school band and jazz band. She graduated from NAU Yuma with a degree in education and a masters degree from The University of Phoenix.

Kathy was an elementary and high school teacher. She influenced the lives of students at Wellton Elementary, Mohawk Valley School, Yuma Lutheran and Gila Ridge High School. For the last four years Kathy was a caregiver in Sanger, California.

Kathy is survived by her three children, Justin of Kuwait, Megan (Chris) of Phoenix and Ryan (Harley) of Morenci; one grandson, Michael and one step-granddaughter, Addison; parents Doug and Carole Henry of Wellton, her brother, Doug (Melissa) of Yuma and her niece, Sophie of Arlington, VA. and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Kathy was a woman who was strong in her Christian faith. She had a kind heart and was always willing to help others. Her parting will leave a great void in her family's lives.

Kathy stood in the shadows so others could shine!

My best memory of Kathy is when she supported my rival for Student Body President. He won. However, Kathy and I remained close friends afterwards with no hard feelings. That´s how much I appreciated her friendship. My sincerest condolences to her family and friends. She will be missed.
