Robert Moser Obituary

Robert M. Moser

March 16th, 1958 - September 3, 2021

Robert Mathew Moser passed away in the comfort of his home on September 3rd, 2021, at age 63. He was born March 16th, 1958, in Lakeland, Florida and adopted by his mom and dad, Iva and Dee Moser of Yuma, AZ.

Robby was a wonderful man, godfather, and friend who was well loved and admired by all who knew him. He loved to water ski out at Martinez Lake, cruise around out at the sand dunes, go fishing at his secret fishing spots, and build beautiful carpentry pieces. Robby also enjoyed playing his Tama drum set and listening to blues and jazz music. He collected over 100 pieces of modern and antique musical instruments. He always joked that he could start an entire orchestra with his collection.

Robby started building homes with his dad at a young age and later went on to work for several custom home builders in Yuma as his career. He was one of the most giving, goofiest, and self-less persons. He always offered his time and talents to help anyone whenever he could. He was always cracking jokes, making funny faces, and could make everyone around him laugh.

Robby had been battling a rare form of cancer for over two and a half years, but never gave up on trying to be there for others. Through surgery, chemo and towards the end, he was still making people laugh and smile with his mischievous jokes and pranks. A huge piece of all our hearts is gone but never forgotten. We love you so much Robby! Hope you're listening to Chet Baker playing the trumpet and eating a corn dog with a cold mountain dew and a big piece of chocolate cake up in heaven.

Robby is survived by his cousin Danny and Pam Moser, his god daughter Kailey Jo Stanhope and fianc Douglas Valdez, and extended family Lea and Kevin Stanhope.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:30 pm on Saturday, October 2nd, 2021 at The Yuma County Fairgrounds West Gate entrance off of Pacific. 1950 E 24th St, Yuma, AZ 85365.

I´m so sorry to hear of Roby´s passing. I knew of his diagnosis but hadn´t heard from him in some while. I had the pleasure of getting to know Roby and his parents when renting an apartment from them almost 30 years ago. What a generous and kind family. I´m grateful to call Roby a friend. He was one of the funniest people I´ve ever known and I could always count on him for playful teasing and a belly laugh. I was impressed by how well known he was in the Yuma community, yet humble. I went to Midnight at the Oasis with him one year and it seemed like every 10 steps someone was yelling Hey Roby! and coming over to shake his hand. I´ve never met someone who so prioritized other people. This obituary was beautifully written and speaks the truth about Roby. We are all better off that got to call Roby a friend.

i first met robbie about 40 years ago and i don't think there is enough room here for me to list all the good things about him . you all know already . every time we ran into each other he would always shake my hand and even when he found out he was sick he was always more concerned about how i was . i ran into him not to long ago and we talked for about an hour about the old days . before we left he shook my hand longer this time and looked at me and just said thank you . i guess maybe he knew . robbie you were one of the good ones . you are gone to soon but not soon forgotten . til we meet again R.I.P. brother .

25+ years ago, one evening after a night of team volleyball games, within a group of friends, I made the comment of needing tall wooden stakes to hold up my tomato plants. THe next day, while working in the garden, Robbie showed up with several wooden long slats. With his hammer, he whittled those wooden pieces into the perfect size stakes.

I didn't even know Robbie was listening. Not only was it such a surprise for him to show up the next day, but as good looking as Robbie is, I couldn't figure how such a guy like Robbie would sacrifice his valuable & limited free time to come over and create garden stakes with no good looking young girls around. It was such a kind act with no motive on his part other than to help out. I was profoundly gobsmacked by his kindness. Robbie is profoundly unforgettable, and I think that at the end of one's lifetime, it's a good way to be forever remembered...just profoundly unforgettable.

I will never forget Robbie not his kindness. He rebuilt our home and did the most amazing wood work! He was just so very gifted but the best gift of all was a simple board he put up in the unfinished bathroom that read Happy Birthday DeeDee! It brought me to tears! He loved his niece dearly-that I knew as we became close during the renovation. God Bless You Robbie. So special.

Played a little softball with Robbie in the past. Kid was very fast as well as excellent where he would hit a ball. Was very devoted to his church youth group as well. He would be in my mind as a well rounded individual. My prayers go out to his family. No doubt in my mind that he is with God and family. Rest well my friend. Kent Phipps

I used to play football with Robby and he was one the coolest cats out there. Although I never hung out with him on a regular basis, whenever I would see him around town, he always had that big smile. I seen him at Lowe's a few months ago and he never mentioned that he was sick. Prayers to his family, RIP Robby!

I am very sorry to hear of Robbie's passing.
It is with a very sad heart that I write these words.
He was one of the coolest, most unique people that I have ever known.
I love the way that he lived life.

I grew up on the same street as Robbie, and my friend Bryan and I, especially admired and respected him. All of the May Avenue boys respected Robbie.

One of my favorite memories is of a day fishing and skiing on the lower Colorado river, from the the bridge to the last bend, with Robbie, Bryan, and Pete. Robbie was doing 360's while skiing. I was trying to mimic him, but I kept getting stuck backwards... skiing down the river backwards, and Robbie and Bryan laughing. It was one of those days that define what life is truly about; real joy.

Robbie was a very ethical, and he lived by a moral code.
After my father died, and I lived in another state, I called Robbie several times to go check on my mother. On these occasions, Robbie hadn't heard from me in years. However, as soon as he got my phone call, Robbie immediately went to visit my mother and made sure that everything was alright. He immediately addressed the situation and set my worried mind at ease. That is rare in a human being.

He was one cool dude.

My most sincere condolences go out to Robbie's family and friends. There are those of us that know what a special man and spirit that he was. I will not be able to attend Robbie's Celebration of Life, but I sincerely hope that someone reads this message.
I want everyone to know what a wonderful and free human being Robbie Moser was, and that all of us can learn from his example.

Sincerely,
Jerry R. Jirak

Robbie was an awesome guy! I worked with him, Dee and Bruce Gore when Robbie was 14 years old. He was a great builder. As his dad would say, "he´s a good mechanic!" RIP Robbie.....
