LOS ANGELES, CA: Ashley Lane Hoffman, 29, of Los Angeles, Ca, formerly of Zanesville, died Tuesday, October 26 in Los Angeles after a brief illness. Ashley was a bright, witty, giving individual with a free spirit who will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and by her cat, Marv Albert, a joking reference to her aversion to televised sports.

She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Herbert W. Baker, Sr. and C. Richard Hoffman, Sr.; her cousin, Jacob Baker; and her brother-in-law, John Lent, Jr.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by a sister, Tasha Baker; a brother, Sean Hicks; and grandmother, Ann L. Baker, all of Zanesville; and grandmother, Ann M. Hoffman of Heath.

Ashley is also survived by numerous aunts and uncles, including Herb Baker Jr., Carl and Lezlee Baker of Zanesville, Blaise and Peggy Baker of Columbus, Elaine and Rob Hartman of Canal Winchester, Sharon and Vince Wollenburg and Penny and Larry Moore of Newark, Dennis Hoffman of Heath, Robert and Cindy Leger of Alabama, Mark and Helen Baker of Beavercreek, and George Hoffman.

Ashley also had several cousins including Caleb Baker, Brian Hoffman and Kimberly Hoffman of Zanesville, Lauren Moore, Kersten Siekinger, Ryan Baker, Mallory Baker and Alex Baker of Columbus, Robert, Catherine and Elizabeth Hartman of Canal Winchester, Caroline and Billy Wollenburg of Newark, Samantha Stahl, Dean and William Leger of Michigan, Aaron Leger of Alabama, Chad Baker of Chicago, Rick Baker of Beavercreek, Shawn Hoffman of Delaware, Ohio, Nick Baker of Washington, DC, Jon Hoffman of Kentucky, and David Hoffman of Florida.

Ashley also leaves behind many loving family and friends, too numerous to mention. She touched many lives. She will be greatly missed.

Calling hours will be 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. with a Rosary service at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 3 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will be held in the Snouffer Chapel at 11 a.m. on Thursday with Father Martin J. Ralko officiating. Inurnment will take place at Zanesville Memorial Park at a later date.

While I knew Ashley many years ago, I always took comfort in knowing that--even though I was nowhere near her recently--she was somewhere out in the world and living it. I’d like to tell her family that Ashley was a powerful individual, and that she had an indelible effect on me and so many others.

I thought the world of Ashley and I thought of her often. I will continue to think of her as a wonderful, perplexing, beautiful, bright woman. She was all that and more. When she entered a room, the room became better than before. People always took notice of her and more often than not, they liked her. Some even loved her. As somebody on that list, I will miss her a great deal.
