Edison Wolfe Obituary
SOMERSET: Edison Ross "Jim" Wolfe, 95, of Somerset, passed away at 8:45 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Bickford Nursing Home in Lancaster.
Jim was born April 26, 1922 in Sycamore, IL, the son of the late Oris and Ruby McClure Wolfe.
He was a World War II Army Combat Medic veteran. Jim was a life member of the Somerset American Legion Leo Ryan Post 58, a member of the Disable Veterans of Cincinnati, the Buckeye Reading Grange 940, and Wesley Chapel Church. He worked in the coal industry for most of his life and retired from Sidwell Brothers.
Jim is survived by his son, Dwight Douglas (Mary) Wolfe; a son-in-law, Leslie Pace; four grandchildren, Ronda, Brenda, Lisa and Beth; six great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Laura Franks, Emily Masters and Lyda Gunter; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Charles Lane.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ernestine (Zumbro) Wolfe; a daughter, Janet Sue Pace; a great-granddaughter, Renee; one brother, Glenn Wolfe; and one sister, Ruth Inman.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 3, 2017 with Rev. Karen Walters officiating. Burial will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
