Floyd Green Obituary
Adamsville - Floyd W. Green, 84, of Adamsville, Ohio died Wednesday morning, January 9, 2019 at the home of his daughter in Zanesville, Ohio.
Born May 4, 1934 in Adams Township of Muskingum County he was a son of the late Raymond and Gertrude (Lapp) Green. Mr. Green was retired from Peabody Coal Company and he was a self-employed farmer, a carpenter and a former school bus driver with Adamsville Schools. Floyd was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church and the Adamsville Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed helping people and woodworking. His greatest love was his family, especially his grandkids and great grandkids.
Surviving is one son Floyd E. "Skip" (Debbie) Green of Dresden; three daughters, Brenda Bissett of Coshocton, Ohio, Lisa (Chris) Cannon of Adamsville and Tammy (Darron) Delancey of Zanesville; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren and one great great grandson. Also surviving are five brothers, Charles (Gertrude) Green of Coco, Florida, John (Mary) Green of Zanesville, Tom Green of Trinway, Ohio, Jim Green and Tony (Wanda) Green, both of Adamsville; one sister, Kathleen (Gary) Hootman of Conesville, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, M. Marlene "Sadie" (Foster) Green whom he married March 3, 1957 and who died August 21, 2017; a daughter, Vickie Matthews, a grandchild, Shaley Delancey, a son in-law, Steve Bissett and three brothers, Homer Green, Dale Green and Harold Green.
Calling hours will be 2pm to 5pm Sunday, January 13, 2019 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Monday, January 14, 2019 at the funeral home with Pastor Sharon Williamson officiating. Burial will be in Bethesda Church Cemetery near Adamsville.
Memorial contributions may be made to Adamsville Volunteer Fire Department.

He was like my second dad . Loved to bottle feed the baby lambs go sledding. Playing cards with them . Going up to see if he wanted to go to the church and eat with us . I will miss him greatly . Spending Christmas with him since my mom has died and we just spent this Christmas with all them . And I remember Easters egg tosses . Usually spent holidays with them . I remember doing birthdays and mothers day have a cook out play out in yard . Miss you Floyd love you to the moon and back . Love you all to skip Brenda Lisa and Tammy . This is just as bad as losing my dad .

Your dad was a good man and I remember the times he spent helping my parents remodel their kitchen in the old farm house we grew up in. Mom and dad always enjoyed visiting with him. He will be missed. R.I.P cousin Bill.
