Jean Huey Obituary
Zanesville - Jean Marie Huey, 89, of Zanesville passed at 12:28 AM Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at the Genesis Healthcare after a short illness.
She was born on Tuesday, April 26, 1932 in Wayland, NY the daughter of Homer Webster Bennett and Marion Garfield Baird Bennett.
Jean graduated from Wayland Central High School in New York in 1950 and later graduated from the University of the State of New York, Rochester School of Nursing in 1953. She worked in the Rochester area for a couple years before enlisting in the United States Air Force and serving as a nurse. She met her husband while serving in the military and they were married on July 28, 1961. Eventually settling in the Zanesville area where she worked as a nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital for many years. For 49 years, she owned and operated Huey's Ceramics in Nashport and enjoyed gardening and artistic painting.
She is survived by two sons: Pete Huey of Nashport and Paul (Joan) Huey of Pickerington; five grandchildren: Craig Huey, Taylor Huey Erhard, Alex Huey, Cameron Huey and Kelleigh Huey; two great grandchildren, Zachary Erhard and Olivia Erhard.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" Arthur Huey.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday, June 11, 2021 at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home where funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM with Chaplain Tim Patton officiating. Burial will conclude at the Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
