Joan Murrey Obituary
Green - Joan Jordan Murrey, 83, of Green, OH, formerly of Huntington, WV, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018. She was born August 13, 1934 in Wayne County, WV a daughter of the late Sidney C. and Ollie Dixon Jordan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Charles Murrey; six sisters, Evelyn Jordan Curry (Robert), Dorothy Jordan Malcolm (Paul), Delores Jordan Miller (John), Charlotte Jordan Workman (Clyde), Eula Jordan Durante (Jim), and Colene Jordan Davis (Hugh); and a brother, Lionel Jordan (Dallas). Joan was a 1952 graduate of Vinson High School and was a Registered Nurse, having graduated from Bethesda Hospital School of Nursing, Zanesville, OH in 1957. She worked at various hospitals and as an Industrial Nurse at Armco Steel in Zanesville, OH. Most recently she worked as a Nurse at the Woodlands Retirement Community in Huntington, WV. She was affiliated with the Lutheran Church. Survivors include: a son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Jill Roush of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Rob Zetzer of Green, OH and Celeste and Steve Hickox of Middlefield, OH; six grandchildren, Dylan Roush, Diana Roush, Julie Hickox Adams (Gary), Grace Hickox, Emily Hickox, and Jordan Hickox; and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life gathering will take place from 12:00 to 1:30 pm Saturday, April 7, 2018, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, WV, followed by a memorial service at 1:30 pm with Pastor Kevin L.
