JoAnn Longaberger Obituary
DRESDEN: JoAnn Longaberger, 79, of Dresden, Ohio died Monday evening, October 30, 2017 at her home after a year-long battle with brain cancer. Her loving family was at her side.
Born November 8, 1937 in Ritchie County, West Virginia she was a daughter of the late Warden K. and Juanita (Nutter) Baker and was a 1956 graduate of Dresden Jefferson High School. After moving to Dresden, she met the love of her life, Richard Longaberger, in 1953 at Jefferson High School. They were married in 1955. They lived in Germany and Marietta, Ohio for a while and then came home to Dresden where JoAnn made a warm and loving home for her family. She became a member of the Garden Club, the Kismet Club and attended both the First Baptist Church and the United Methodist Church. She also enjoyed the companionship of her many friends and was a member of the Dresden Golden Girls Club.
Surviving is her loving husband of 62 years, Richard L. Longaberger, whom she married July 2, 1955; three daughters, Holly (Tony) Noland of Frazeysburg, Heather (Jon) Paul of Zanesville and Heidi Longaberger of Dayton, Ohio; two grandchildren, Conor Noland and Hannah Noland; two step-grandchildren, Lindsey Gracyk and Kyle Noland; and two step great grandchildren, Landon Erwin and Cloey Noland. Also surviving are three sisters, Anna Breeden of Dresden, Sandy (George) Miller of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Sally (Jim) Rowse of Tucson, Arizona and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Danny Baker and Edward Baker and a brother in-law, Donald Breeden.
Calling hours will be from 11am to 1pm Saturday, November 4, 2017 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
Funeral services will be a 1:00pm Saturday, November 4, 2017 at the funeral home with Ms. Mary Kaufman officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Muskingum County Animal Society, 1430 Newark Road, Zanesville, Ohio 43701 or to Christ's Table, 29 South Sixth Street, Zanesville, Ohio 43701.

We had such wonderful times with JoAnn and Rich Longaberger at the Bee. They both came to Horizon of Hope Events and attended a Home Show with me at a friend of mine that has since passed away. She made everyone smile and you always felt lucky to know her. JoAnn was such a joy and a bright light in this world...and now in heaven. We love & miss her dearly.
