John Edward Hayman

CROOKSVILLE: John Edward 'Jack' Hayman, 77 of Crooksville, Ohio passed away at 8:50 AM, Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Genesis Care and Rehabilitation of New Lexington following a brief illness.

He was born February 20, 1937 in Crooksville, the son of the late Charles and Lavella Irene Whitehair Hayman. Jack served our country in the US Army post Korean Conflict.

He was retired from Rockwell International where he had worked as a machinist. He was a member of First Hope United Methodist Church (formerly New Hope UM Church), a 47 year member of Peerless Lodge 591 F & AM both in Crooksville, a member of the National Rifle Association and Bass Masters. He loved his woodworking hobby and bird watching.

Jack is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Marilyn J. Adams Hayman; his sons and daughter-in-law, Randall and Berta Hayman of Newark and Brent Hayman of Crooksville; his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Margaret Hayman of Jackson; and his grandchildren and their spouses, Miranda and Daryll Guenther of Los Angeles, California and Clinton and Mariah Hayman of Newark.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Charlene Barrows.

Family and friends will be received 4:00-7:00 PM, Tuesday, February 3 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville. Peerless Lodge 591 will hold services at the funeral home at 7:00 PM on Tuesday. Funeral services and a celebration of Jack's life will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, February 4 with Pastor Anthony Richards officiating. Burial will follow in Iliff Cemetery at McLuney with military honors.

Memorial contributions may be made to Genesis Hospice and Palliative Care, 713 Forest Ave., Zanesville, OH 43701. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
