Max V. Drake

Westerville - Max V. Drake 96, of Westerville, formerly of McConnelsville passed away at 10:20 p.m. March 7, 2021 at Park Side Senior Living in Westerville. He was born November 24, 1924 in McConnelsville the son of the late Culver Drake and Bessie Sands Drake.He worked at Muskingum Valley Grocery in Malta, was a disabled Army Veteran of WWII where he served from 1943 to 1946, and a member of the Main Street Church of Christ in McConnelsville. He is survived by his children Kathy (John) Thompson of Sunbury and Nancy Drake of Zanesville; grandchildren Kristen (Jason) Blythe of Sunbury, and Stefanie (Jeremy) Hayes of Galena;great grand children Drake, Farley, Kaytlin, J.T. and Cole Blythe, and Maxton and Emmett Hayes. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Vera Drake, sisters Mary Lee Short, Martha Hutchins, and Lara Mae Drake, brothers Charles, Dean and Donard Drake. Friends may call 12 to 2 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2021 at Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville, where services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Galen Finley officiating.He will be laid to rest with military honors by American Legion Honor Guard in McConnelsville Cemetery next to his wife.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions mat be made to the Alzheimer's Association 225 N. Michigan Ave Chicago, IL.Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.miller-huck.com.
