Nancy Blake Obituary
NEW LEXINGTON: Nancy Dearborn Blake, 86, passed away 7 February 2012 at New Lexington, Ohio.
She was born 23 October 1925 in Wilmington, Delaware, the daughter of Frank C. and Roberta L. Foster Blake. She graduated from the University of Delaware in 1946 and married that same year Max L. Underwood, Sr. Nancy retired after 29 years as a teacher and librarian at Southern Local Schools. She was a member of the New Lexington Board of Education 1974 to 1982, on the board of Residential Inc. and a volunteer at the New Lexington Food Pantry since her retirement.
She is survived by Carleton B. Underwood, his wife Amy and, daughter Carys of Zanesville; David B. Underwood, his wife Nellia, and son James of Guysville; Nancy P. "Mimi" Underwood of New Lexington; Jane L. Underwood of Columbus; Max L. "Skip" Underwood, Jr. and his wife Christina Andrews of Hilliard. A sister, Carlie Vernon of Key Largo, FL. also survives.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1926, her mother in 1967, and her husband, Max in 1976.
Calling hours will be held from 1pm-4pm on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio. Obituary and online register book at www.robertsfuneralhomenewlex.com
