Phillip Ross Obituary
NASHPORT: Phillip E. Ross, 65, of Nashport, died at 6:52 P.M. on Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born February 14, 1947, in Zanesville, a son of the late Ted and Dorothy Whittlinger Ross. He retired as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service, and was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW George Selsam Post #1058, and was an avid golfer who enjoyed playing at Vista View Golf Course.
Surviving are three daughters, Monica (Joe) Stomps of Dayton, Mindy (Bob) Anton of Zanesville, and Katie (Kyle) Winland of Zanesville; six grandchildren; a brother Ted (Alice) Ross of New Concord, and an aunt Charlotte Shuter of Springfield, IN.
No calling hours will be observed. A dignified cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. All arrangements have been entrusted to the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville.

I knew Phil as a relative and close friend who I grew up with until my family moved to California. Lots of good memories and lots of good fun. With the Mirgons, Rosses and Hunter kids always outside on those long summer days, the neighbors on St. Louis and Brown always knew where we were. You WILL be missed!

I knew Flip at Vista View as a friend. Our paths did not cross often, but he was always friendly and jovial and ready to tell a story. He substituted for someone on our golf team on many occasions doing so happily and capably.
I will miss him every trip to Vista View Golf Course. My condolences to the Ross family.

Flip was a fixture at Vista Golf Course. That is were we first met him and a close friendship started. He was a great guy to talk to. I will cherish the time I spent with him. Jodi, Kadi and I (Flip always called them sisters) send our prayers to the Ross family.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Flip at Vista View Golf course. Flip was a tough guy with a tender heart. His gruff exterior was a cover up for his big heart. Flip was always ready for a good laugh and wasn't difficult to get along with.
I enjoyed seeing him around the course fishing for golf balls in the lakes. I will miss seeing him at the course.
