Rebecca Culbertson Obituary
ZANESVILLE: Rebecca June Culbertson, 86, of Zanesville, passed away at 12:45 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Brookdale Zanesville. She was born on June 2, 1929 in East Fultonham a daughter of the late Earl and Georgia Fortner.
June managed Military Lanes, Maysville Lanes, and Sunrise Bowl, retiring from Sunrise Bowl. She was a member of Washington Township Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and was active in the Ladies Missionary. She was a member of the Adamsville Auxiliary, was the 2004 Grand Marshall of the Adamsville Homecoming Parade. She was a former 4-H advisor, room mother for all her children, was involved in the Wish-U-Well Club, was a block captain at her winter home in Sebring, Florida. More recently she was active in the Senior Olympics at The Fieldhouse and square dancing at the Muskingum County Senior Center .
She is survived by four children Sharon (Larry) Wisecarver of Adamsville, Susan Culbertson (Michael McVicker), David (Shirley) Culbertson, and Douglas (Sue) Culbertson, all of Zanesville; grandchildren Mike (Marie) Wisecarver of Zanesville, Holly (Dana) Lake of Chandlersville, Jon (Stef) Shirer of Adamsville, Chad (Michelle) Shirer of Pickerington, Brad (Jodi) Culbertson of Harrod, Bryan (Kim) Culbertson of Coshocton, Angela (Coba) Taylor of Coshocton, Jeremy (Ashley) Culbertson of Newark, Joshua Culbertson of Columbus, Katie (Eric) Settles; 25 great grandchildren and four great-greatgrandchildren; one brother William (Bobbie) Fortner; one sister Diane (Doug) Harsh. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Chester Culbertson.
Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday August 2, 2015 and from 1:30 -2:30 p.m. Monday August 3, 2015 at WILLIAM THOMPSON & SON FUNERAL HOME 5765 Gladstone Drive White Cottage where services will be held at 2:30 p.m.Monday. Rev. Chris Riggs officiating and burial will follow in Washington Township Baptist Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Washington Township Baptist Church, or Genesis Hospice.
