Velma Tayhi Obituary
DRESDEN: Velma R. Tahyi, 87, of Conesville, Ohio passed away Saturday evening, December 12, 2015 at Grant Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family.
Born September 28, 1928 in Muskingum County she was a daughter of the late Conard and Frances (Welsh) Newell. Mrs. Tahyi was a homemaker and her greatest enjoyment in life was her family.
Surviving is her loving husband of 69 years, Fred Tahyi whom she married December 13, 1946. Velma is also the loving mother of three children, Terry (Peggy) Tahyi of Conesville, Cheryl Gano of Coshocton and Tim (Jean) Tahyi of Utica, Ohio and the loving grandmother to eight grandchildren, Troy Tahyi, Stefanie May, Kurt Gano, Matt Gano, Shawn Tahyi, Jarrett Tahyi, Shanan Tahyi and Sheena Tahyi and of several great grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Harold Newell and Gerald (Joan) Newell, both of Zanesville and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son in-law, Carl Gano, five brothers, Gene, Lewis, John, Dwight and Duane Newell and three sisters in-law, Frances Newell, Roberta Newell and Jean Newell.
There will be no calling hours as per Velma's wishes and a private graveside memorial service will be conducted at Dresden Cemetery.
