I did plumbing work a few times at his house, and we talked about jazz and his music career. He was in a trio that toured with Benny Goodman, I believe. We talked and I listened to his stories for an hour or so, and he played a little guitar for me. He will be missed.

Uncle Wilbur will be greatly missed. We could always count on his wisdom and endless knowledge of the Norman history. I enjoyed hearing stories about his childhood, which he loved to share. Aunt Greta, Dawn and Wilbur Lee, may God wrap you in his comforting love.

To the Norman Family:
This is to offer my condolences for your loss of Wilber. I have long been in awe of him, his talents, and his great life experiences. He was a delight when he shared his wisdom, the history of his life, and the history of his people. The time I spent with him was precious to me.
Beyond my own sense of loss, I speak on behalf of the membership of the Multicultural Genealogical Center who were enriched by his knowledge of the Norman and extended families of the region when I say, "Wilber will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of coming in contact with him."
