Buddy BOWMAN Obituary
He was born July 1, 1943, in Patrick County, Va., but had been a Peninsula resident since 1963. A painter by trade, Tex could take a set of plans and build a house from the ground up.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mallie Emerson.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Bowman; two children, daughter, Lindy and son, Jr.; two sisters, Peggy Higgins of Newport News and Carolyn Durvin and husband, Bill of Ridgecrest, Calif.; four grandchildren and many loving friends, since he never met a stranger.
There will be a covered dish memorial from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 1012, at Tabernacle United Methodist Church, Poquoson.

Buddy was a very special man. He will certainly be missed very much. He was a one of a kind. I have comfort knowing he is in a better place with no more pain. I will be praying and thinking of all my family during this time of loss. We love you all.

So sorry to hear of Tex's passing. I always enjoyed our conversations at the paint store and on job sites. My prayers go out to family and friends. May the Lord comfort you and give you peace at this difficult time. I know Tex will be missed by many.

"Tex" was a unique person and no one will ever come close to his personality.Always easy going and funny.He will be missed by all.I would bet good money that's he's telling a joke right in heaven....

Maxine and I join with you, Bette, and your loved ones, in sadly saying goodbye to Tex. You both found a place in our hearts in the early to mid-90s while working at our townhouse in Grafton Woods. He was a prince among men.
