James Sykes Obituary

Sykes, James Belleville, MI   Age 86, passed away Friday, February 27, 2009 at his home. He was born on July 27, 1922 in Wayne, son of the late Thomas Anthony and Irene (Hubbard) Szwajkowski, Sr.  Jim served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a 45 year member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 324. He loved working in his barn and raising animals.  Mr. Sykes is survived by his wife June (Cram) Sykes; four daughters, Sandra Chieffi of Stockbridge, Diane (Richard) Priebe of Belleville, Marlene (Richard) Clark of Gregory and Gerrie Springer of Willis; two sons, James (Cathy) Sykes and John (Lenore) Sykes, both of Belleville; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; also eight brothers and sisters.  Preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.  Visitation today, Monday, March 2, 2009 11:00 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. with a 12:45 p.m. Rosary and a 1:00 p.m. Funeral at David C. Brown Funeral Home, Belleville. Interment Hillside Cemetery, Belleville. Memorials to St. Stephen Catholic Church. www.davidcbrownfh.com
