Mary Bush Obituary

SENECA FALLS < Mary E. (Stahlnecker) Bush, 78, of East Tyre Road, Seneca Falls, went home with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, at the home of her daughter, surrounded by friends and family. Mary was born in Waterloo on Dec. 4, 1929, the daughter of the late Melvin and Irene Rush Stahlnecker. She had been a partner with her late husband, Floyd, in the operation of Goose Haven in Seneca Falls. She also worked with her children in the family auction business. She was a lifetime member of St. Paul"s Episcopal Church in Waterloo and a member of the Magee Fire Department Auxiliary. She is survived by two daughters, Linda (Stan Santee) Dingman, of Clyde, and Susan (Rocky) DelPapa, of Seneca Falls; three sons, Gary C. (Valerie Horsford) Bush, of Seneca Falls, Floyd C. (Linda) Bush, of Seneca Falls, and Jim E. (Nancy) Bush, of North Rose; 28 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; her brother, John (Audrey) Stahlnecker, of Waterloo; her best friend Peggy Lavere, of Seneca Falls; and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Floyd C Bush Jr., who died Oct. 28, 1997; a daughter, Mary Jo Bush, who died on March 4, 2005; two grandsons, Andy Bush and Paulie Rotondo Jr.; three great-grandchildren, John, Nicholas and Brittany Rotondo; one sister, Lucille Updyke; and one brother, Melvin Stahlnecker. Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 15, at the Doran Funeral Home Inc., 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Mihalyi, rector of St. Paul Episcopal Church, Waterloo, officiating. Burial will be in Spring Brook Cemetery, Seneca Falls. If desired, contributions may be made to the Red Jacket Rescue Unit, Lower Lake Road, Seneca Falls, NY 13148.
