Seward Neal Obituary

PORT BYRON < Seward O. Neal, 95, of Port Byron, died Friday October 24, 2008, at Mercy Health and Rehabilitation Center following a short illness. The youngest child of Ellsworth and Jennie Colin Neal, Seward was born in Ensenore on Sept. 27, 1913. He was a graduate of Union Springs High School, a veteran of World War II and a lifelong mechanic. Seward was predeceased by his wife of 66 years, Mary Alice Nugent Neal; his parents; a son, Bob; a sister, Flora; and a brother, Burton. Mr. Neal is survived by his daughter Marianne Neal, of Port Byron; a son, David Neal, of Florida; three grandchildren; two daughters-in-law; several brothers and sisters-in-law; and several cousins. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28 in St. John"s Church, Port Byron. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Port Byron. There will be no public calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Seward Neal may be made to St. John"s Church or the charity of one"s choice.
