Eleanor Norris Obituary

AUBURN < Mrs. Eleanor M. Norris, 83, of 16 Francis St., Auburn, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007, at Auburn Memorial Hospital. A lifelong resident of Auburn, Eleanor was a graduate of Central High School. She had retired from GE, Auburn, with 25 years of employment in the Payroll Office. Her previous employment included Alco and mayoral secretary to Bob Nelson. Her memberships included the American Legion Auxiliary 1324 S-K Post, and she was a former line dancer. Surviving is her husband, Donald W. Norris, whom she married July 5, 1947; and their son, Donald W. Norris Jr. and his wife, Margaret, of Pennellville; grandchildren, Marc Norris and spouse, Allison, and Tina Robinson and spouse, Jason, all of Liverpool; great-grandchildren, Briana Bishop, Jordan Robinson, Riley and Reece Norris; sisters-in-law, Hazel Newert of Denver, Colo., Dorothy Wright of Auburn and Florida, and Alice Norris of Auburn; brother-in-law, Seward Norris of California; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Leon Hopkins and Helen Stone. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, at Farrell"s Funeral Service Inc., 84 South St., Auburn, with the Rev. Wesley Bogart officiating. Interment will be in Sand Beach Cemetery, Fleming. Calling hours will be from 9 to 11 a.m., prior to services, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Finger Lakes SPCA, 41 York St., Auburn, NY; or the charity of one"s choice.
