Barbara Behnke Obituary

Barbara J. Behnke Battle Creek Barbara J. Behnke, 84, of Battle Creek, passed away Thursday, December 04, 2008 at Bickford Cottage. She was born October 22, 1924, in Battle Creek, the daughter of Leland and Dorothea (Smith) McLain. Barbara was a 1942 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School and a 1945 graduate of Argubright Business College. She was employed as a secretary at the Kellogg Company from April 1957 to June 1982. Barbara was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, the American Business Women's Association, and the Kellogg 25-Year Club. She married Mr. Edward Henry Behnke on November 10, 1945. He preceded her in death on November 22, 1956. She was also preceded in death by her infant daughters, Jacqueline and Coralee Behnke. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 8, 2008 at Royal Funeral Home. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Litchfield, MI.

I USED TO BE BARBS NEIGHBOR. WE WERE VERY CLOSE FOR SEVERAL YEARS. UNFORTUNATLEY AFTER MOVING FROM THAT AREA I DIDN'T KEEP CONTACT LIKE I SHOULD HAVE. I HAVE THOUGHT OF HER OFTEN. SHE ALWAYS HAD GREAT SUGGESTIONS ON GARDENING. MY SYMPATHY TO THE FAMILY AND TO THOSE WHO TOOK CARE OF HER.
