Sheila Walls Obituary

Sheila A. Walls Battle Creek Sheila Ann (Sebastian) Walls, 56, of Battle Creek, MI, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, January 20, 2009 at the Battle Creek Health System. She was born May 9, 1952 in Battle Creek, MI the daughter of Thurman Eugene Sebastian and Christine Blythe. Sheila had been a homemaker for most of her life; however she was a CNA (certified nursing assistant) at the Battle Creek Veteran Medical Center for three years; until she went on disability in 1999. She married Arthur D. Walls on July 15, 1991 in Battle Creek, MI. She leaves to mourn her loss; her husband: Arthur D. Walls of Battle Creek; her mother: Christine B. Richards of Battle Creek; one son: Antonio Sebastian of Kalamazoo, MI; one stepdaughter: Delanea (Dock) Davis of Portage, MI; five grandchildren: Christian Sebastian, TreShawn Reynolds, Amiyah Sebastian, Keshawn Brinson and Tania Sebastian; one great-granddaughter: Jazzlynn Peters; two sisters: Faith D. Mindingall and Elonda M. Richards, both of Battle Creek; one brother: Master Sgt. Jerry J. (Susie) Richards, Jr. of Clarksville, TN; and a host nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father and a sister: Rosetta Blythe in 1994. Sheila graduated from Battle Creek Central in 1970. She was a member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church. Sheila relished the days she could play BINGO and spending time with the grandchildren, cooking, crossword puzzles and was well read. Public visitation will be held at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Sunday from 12 noon until 7 p.m. Funeral services commemorating the life of Sheila Walls will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, at the Unity Missionary Baptist Church (470 North Washington) with the Rev. LeRoy Smith, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Reese Cemetery of Springfield. Memorial tributes may be made to American Cancer Society.
