William Hurt Obituary

William C. Hurt Sycamore, IL William C. Hurt, 79, of Sycamore, IL, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2009 at Pine Acres Rehab and Living Center in DeKalb, IL. He was born March 16, 1929 in Allerton, IL, the son of Benjamin H. and Dora M. (Brown) Hurt. In 1956, William married Patricia Bergstrom (1926-1986) in Des Moines, Iowa and in 1988 married Mary Norberg in Michigan. William was employed for 33 years with the federal government, most recently at the Federal Center in Battle Creek, Michigan. He volunteered for twelve years with the Battle Creek Health System. He also volunteered at the Literary Council, Leila Arboretum, and the Host Program at Washington Edison School. William was a longtime member of Maple United Methodist Church in Battle Creek. He is survived by two children, Pam Wiseman of Sycamore, IL and Robert (Beth Ann) Hurt of Barrington, RI; two grandchildren, Allison Patricia Wiseman and Emily Lucille Hurt; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia and his wife Mary; three sisters, Hallie, Daisey and Rena; and three brothers, Robert, Fred and Eli. Services will be held Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Maple United Methodist Church on Capitol Avenue in Battle Creek, Michigan. Donations can be made to Maple United Methodist Church, the Battle Creek Health System, or to the charity of one's choice in memory of William C. Hurt in care of the Anderson Funeral Home, Ltd., P.O. so sorry to hear about your loss, it sure brought up some memories of the times shared on Keathley Dr...the home made ice cream, the boy scout meetings etc....Your Father was a very kind man. May your memories of the good times keep you going.
