Mary Adams Obituary

Mary Adams Age 95 died Thursday February 19, 2009. Mary was the daughter of Guy C. Adams and Jennie Hicks Adams. Born in Minot, North Dakota, June 17, 1913, she moved to Olivet in 1914 where she resided until a little over a year ago. Mary is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Vincent (Dorothy) Reid and Mrs. Willis (Betty) Hovarter, and several nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by four brothers. Mary was lifelong member of the Congregational Church of Olivet where she participated in the Women's Fellowship and Fanny Quick Circle in addition to teaching Church School. She also ran a private nursery school in Olivet. Mary attended Olivet College and became a member of Sigma Beta Sorority. Mary loved art her entire life. She was an accomplished portrait artist and taught art in Community Education for several years and was an enthusiastic member of the Eaton Art League. A celebration of Mary's life will be held at the Olivet Congregational Church, May 3, 2009 at 2:30 pm.

Mary Adams was my nursery school(which is now pre-school) teacher for 2 yrs when I was living in Olivet... I actually do remember her and I am 66 yrs old now.. She was an awesome woman
