Ethel Wilkey Obituary

Ethel R. Wilkey Climax Age 91, died Sunday June 14, 2009, at Good Samaritan Hospice Residence. Ethel was born on August 15, 1917, in Rhea County, TN, the daughter of James F. and Inez P. (Jackson) Cooley. She lived in Rhea County, TN, from 1917 to 1937, and then came to Battle Creek from 1937 until 1994 when she moved to Climax where she resided from 1994 to the present. On July 9, 1937, in Rossville, GA, she was united in marriage to Boyd Wilkey who preceded her in death in 1999. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, reading, crossword puzzles, flowers, bird watching and fishing. Surviving are sons, Jerry (Paula) Wilkey of Indianapolis, IN, and Michael (Linda) Wilkey of Scotts, MI; 3 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice. Arrangements by the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home.

To my "little Aunt Ess", my memories are full of funny, special times. Of you making Dad squirm with your stories of those "pesky" squirrels that kept getting into your garden.The tales of growing up down south.
