Dear Jim, Carol, and Family,
Your mother was such a faithful, dear friend to my mother, Dorothy Kneeland. They became great friends through Westlake Presbyterian Church. The two of them would spend almost every Saturday drivng to Kalamazoo to play cards with Mary's sister, Billie. Often the 3 of them would drive on over to South Haven and eat at their favorite place, Clementine's (I think that is the name!) Bob and I visited your mother in late March. We were up in Michigan from Cincinnati to visit my brother, John, who had had triple by-pass surgery on March 24. Mary welcomed us , and we had such as great visit! She looked wonderful and was so sharp and interested in everything. She told us that she was now 98, and we really couldn't believe it! She told us all about you with such obvious pride and love and showed us your pictures. I noticed the bridge cards on her dining table, and I kidded her about being ready to play at any time! She was remarkable and a joy to know. She was so loving and faithful to my mother, especially when my mother began to fail. She has left in each of you a wonderful legacy of love. We send our love and blessings,
Bob and Sue(Kneeland) Wade
