Richard Parr Obituary

Richard E. Parr Bellevue Richard E. Parr, 81, of Bellevue, died Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Battle Creek Health System. He was born July 18, 1927 in Brookfield Township to Forest R. and Edith F. (Vahs) Parr. Richard served in the U.S. Army in World War II and following the war, was employed with the Eaton County Road Commission for 41 years. He retired in 1992. He enjoyed farming, listening to country music and especially liked to attend auctions. Richard married Dorothy E. Pratt, she died on May 6, 1984. He was also preceded in death by his parents; brother, Carroll Parr and a grandson, Dustin Parr. Surviving are daughter, Connie (Gary) Neff of Nashville; sons, Doug Parr of Eaton Rapids, Gordon (Bonnie) Parr of Bellevue, Mike (Sue) Parr of Bellevue and Jeff (Nancy) Parr of Milford; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Russell (Betty) Parr of Nashville and Stanley (Marilyn) Parr of Bellevue. Graveside services will take place 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Riverside Cemetery in Bellevue. Memorials may be made to Diabetes Research at www.faustmanlab.org; National Multiple Sclerosis Society, www.nationalmssociety.org or the Arthritis Foundation, www.arthritis.org.
