Ronald Davis Obituary

Ronald L. Davis Ceresco Ronald L. Davis, 59, of Ceresco died Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at home. He was born March 20, 1950, the son of Oliver L. "Blackie" and Vival G. (Hanks) Davis in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Ronald graduated from Pontiac Central High School and worked as a machinist and foreman for Grand Trunk Western and Candian National Railroad since 1969 and retired in 2000. He married Patrice Fist on November 17, 1972. She survives. Also surviving are their children, Keith (Christy) Davis of Battle Creek, Jeanna (Scott) Madej of Battle Creek, Matt (Jodi) Davis of Gaines, Michigan, Ronnie (Carrie Sutton) Davis of Hoffman Estates, Illinois; grandchildren, Austin, Abigayle and Allyssa Davis, Jack and Carly Davis and Brendan and Morgan Madej; brother, Jimmy (Karen) Davis of Ravenna; and sister, Jackie (Clay) Koop of Galesburg. He was preceded in death by his parents. Ronald was a member of the FOE Aerie #299 in Battle Creek, the Southwest Michigan Seek and Search Club and he served as a coach for Rocket football in Lake Orion. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and being outdoors. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 15 and again from 2 until 4:00 p.m. and 6 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 16, 2009 at Shaw Funeral Home. Services will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 17, 2009 at the funeral home with Pastor Matt Brown, First Baptist Church of Marshall officiating. Interment, Newton Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice. The family is being served by Shaw Funeral Home. www.shawfuneralhome.com
