Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. My trips to our Kalamazoo office will not be the same. Rich and I always had a great time whenever I needed to work in Kalamazoo. We would banter back and forth and Rich would often make me a fresh pot of coffee. I will miss Rich and the way he took care of our staff in Kalamazoo.

My condolences to the Brawley family. Rich and I worked together for approximately 10 years at the Kalamazoo Federal Building. During that time, we spent many hours talking about Nascar, fishing, and hunting. Rich was a very kind and generous person, and always made the day better. He would do special things like brushing the snow off coworker's vehicles in the winter. He will be truly missed, and I will think of him everytime I drive into the Federal Building parking lot.

Rich was a very good friend. I met him on my first day at the federal building, when he directed me where to park and escorted me to the probation office. Rich was always kind and helpful in that way. He would do anything for anyone. He had such a giving spirit.

Over the years we became close, sharing most everything. He continually said "TW" to me, because he knew I hated the term "typical woman." We had a lot of fun joking around, decorating offices and vehicles. I even put streamers on his bike handles - without touching it, of course - for his birthday.

I think I am still in shock at his loss. He was just in my office on Thursday, giggling about decorating another coworker's office in Michigan State decor, as she was a U of M fan. I told him he was a "TI" = "typical instigator." He said he gets it honest and told me about how his father use to prank Chris at work with racoon and deer parts (some details!). I was very busy that day, but thought he justed needed to talk about his father. I knew he missed him deeply.

Rich loved and cared for his family very much. I feel like I know each of you through him. I am deeply sorry for your loss. Dar

Rich we will miss you and your wonderful love that touched everyone you met. The fourth pew on the right side of the church will never be the same. The spot you held each Lord's Day will have your laughter, smiles, giggles and yes the biggest heart we have known in our congregation. Your memories will be our happiness till we meet again. Our prayers will continue to be with your Mom, John and Tonya. It is not goodbye my brother in Christ it is see you later.

I am so sorry to hear about Rich. He was a big part of our family, too. The friendship he shared with my brother, Mark, will never be forgotten. They were like brothers and always had such great times. Please know that we understand how you are hurting. Jesus said in John 16:20, "I tell you, you will weep and mourn, but the world will rejoice; you will have pain, but your pain will turn to joy." May your faith carry you through this sorrowful time.
God Bless You,
Mary Lou (Mark Musgrave's sister)

Rich was a coworker and will be missed by many. We teased each other often about our favorite college teams: I am a Michigan State fan and Rich was a huge Ohio State Buckeye. We had fun ribbing each other about our favorite teams. Rich used to get a kick out of teasing many of us and would get the giggles when he would describe how he successfully pulled a prank on one of us. I will miss his giggles the most. I offer my deepest condolences to Rich's family.

What a shock to learn Rich was gone. I only knew him by our telephone contact through work; but I know I always looked forward to Tuesdays at 4:45pm; he was the bright point in my day. He will definitely be missed.

Life is not fair to those that are taken too soon, unexpectedly depriving families of thier loved ones, I wish the family strength in this time of loss and will always remember Richard as a fun loving spirit who was full of life and enjoyed every moment of his. God Bless and never forget to tell those you care for that you love them when they depart your sight for we never know when it will be our last chance to do so...
