John R. Marzic

John R. Marzic Albion John R. Marzic, 89, passed away Monday, August 31, 2009, at Sunrise Assisted Living in Ann Arbor. He was born in Albion, MI on January 25, 1920 to Stanley and Tekla V. (Zasucha) Marzic, Sr. On October 1, 1949 he married the former Maxine Blaisdell, she survives. John served our country in World War II in the United States Army. He worked in administration for the National Guard Armory for 30 years. John was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Albion Elks Lodge and the American Legion. He enjoyed traveling, playing cards, current events and wintering in Sarasota, FL. John enjoyed his Friday afternoon meetings at Cascarelli's with retired guardsmen. Survivors include: wife, Maxine Marzic of Albion; daughter, Janet (Lyon) Hansen of Canton, MI; grandchildren, Josh and Tim Lyon. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Steven Marzic, 2 brothers, Stanley and Frank and sister Mary. Memorial Service will be Tuesday September 8, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion, MI with Father Carl Peltz officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service.
